How Turtle Labs LLC collects and uses information on trellis.computer and related Trellis products.

Turtle Labs LLC (“we”, “us”) operates trellis.computer, studio.trellis.computer, and the open-source Trellis software. This policy describes what we collect on our websites and hosted services, not what you store locally in your own .trellis repositories.

What we collect

  • Website usage — if you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to understand traffic and performance on trellis.computer.
  • Essential cookies — theme preference, sidebar state, and similar UI settings required for the site to work as you expect.
  • Hosted Studio (studio.trellis.computer) — account identifiers from our auth provider (InstantDB), workspace metadata, and usage metering for cloud AI proxy when you use those features.
  • Support and contact — information you send us voluntarily (email, GitHub issues, etc.).

Local-first software

When you run npx trellis studio locally, your graph data stays on your machine unless you explicitly sync or publish. We do not receive your local repository contents by default.

How we use information

  • Operate, secure, and improve our websites and hosted services
  • Respond to support requests
  • Measure documentation effectiveness (with consent on trellis.computer)
  • Bill and meter cloud features where applicable

Sharing

We use subprocessors for hosting (e.g. Vercel), analytics (Google, Vercel — only with consent on the docs site), authentication (InstantDB on Studio), and AI routing when you use cloud agent features. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices

  • On trellis.computer, use the cookie banner or to accept or decline analytics.
  • Local data: export, move, or delete your .trellis directories at any time.
  • Contact hello@turtle.tech for privacy requests.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date.
